ActivityChronio

A local-first macOS activity tracker that shows which app or website was active, and when.

What it is

ActivityChronio runs locally on my Mac and records the apps, browser tabs and websites I use throughout the day.

It turns that history into day, week and month reviews, with categories, productivity scores, search, reports and screenshots—without depending on a cloud service.

The problem

It is surprisingly difficult to reconstruct where a day went or remember exactly which website was open at a specific time.

The approach

Capture active-window and browser-tab activity locally, filter out idle time and turn the timeline into a reviewable, categorized history.

What I learned

The useful part of activity tracking is not collecting more data; it is making private data easy to review and understand.
